Controls and Operation

Handle Controls: START/STOP button, Safety Key slot, Bail Lever (deadman switch).

Starting:

  1. Insert Safety Key.
  2. Ensure batteries are installed and charged.
  3. Press and hold the Bail Lever against the handle.
  4. Press the START button. The blade will engage.

Stopping: Release the Bail Lever. The blade will stop within seconds.

Transport: Always turn mower off and remove the safety key before moving across surfaces or slopes.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Use the single lever located near each wheel to adjust all four wheels simultaneously.

  1. Pull the lever outward to disengage from the height setting.
  2. Move the lever to the desired numbered position (1=lowest, 7=highest).
  3. Release the lever to lock into place.
  4. Check that all wheels are at the same height.

Tip: For a healthier lawn, never cut more than 1/3 of the grass blade length at one time.

3-in-1 Functionality

Configure the mower for your preferred grass disposal method.

WARNING! Always stop the mower and remove the safety key before changing the discharge mode.

Battery Installation & Care

Use only genuine DeWalt 20V MAX* or 60V MAX FLEXVOLT® batteries.

  1. Installation: Slide batteries into the ports until they click. Ensure they are fully seated.
  2. Charging: Use only DeWalt chargers. Charge batteries at room temperature.
  3. Storage: Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from metal objects.
  4. Runtime: Varies based on grass condition, height, and battery type. For best results, use two fully charged high-capacity batteries.

CAUTION! Do not incinerate or short-circuit batteries. Do not use damaged batteries.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Disconnect batteries and remove safety key before any maintenance.

  1. Blade Inspection: Regularly check for nicks, bends, or dullness. A sharp blade ensures a clean cut and healthy lawn.
  2. Blade Replacement: Use a block to prevent blade from turning. Remove the mounting bolt, replace blade, and torque to specification (see manual).
  3. Cleaning the Deck: After use, tip mower on its side (with air filter side up for models with engine). Scrape off grass clippings with a brush or plastic scraper.
  4. Wheel & Bearing Check: Ensure wheels turn freely and are not damaged.

Storage

Proper storage extends the life of your mower.

  1. Clean the mower thoroughly as described above.
  2. Fold the handle: Loosen knobs, fold handle down toward the deck.
  3. Battery Storage: Remove batteries. Store separately in a cool, dry place at approx. 50% charge if storing long-term.
  4. Location: Store indoors in a dry, locked location out of reach of children.

CAUTION! Never store the mower with batteries installed in extreme temperatures (below 40°F or above 105°F).
