Assembly Instructions
Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires a Phillips screwdriver and adjustable wrench.
- Attach the lower handle: Align holes on lower handle with deck brackets, secure with provided bolts and nuts.
- Install the upper handle: Slide upper handle onto lower handle, align holes, and secure with knobs.
- Attach the grass bag: Hook bag onto rear deck hooks; ensure it is securely fastened.
- Install batteries: Insert two fully charged 20V MAX batteries into the battery compartment.
- Install safety key: Insert key into slot near the start button.
WARNING! Ensure all fasteners are tightened securely. Do not operate without the grass bag or mulch plug properly installed if using bagging or mulching mode.
First-Time Setup
Before first use, fully charge batteries and perform a safety check.
- Charge batteries: Use DeWalt 20V MAX charger (included) to charge both batteries fully (approx. 60 minutes each).
- Check cutting height: Adjust lever to desired height (recommend 2.5-3 inches for first mow).
- Select function: Install mulch plug for mulching, attach bag for bagging, or remove both for side discharge.
- Test operation: In a clear area, insert safety key, press and hold safety handle, then press start button.
CAUTION! Clear mowing area of debris, rocks, and toys before operation. Wear safety glasses and sturdy shoes.

Controls and Operation
Main controls: Start button, safety handle, height adjustment lever, battery indicator.
Operation Steps:
- Insert safety key into slot near start button.
- Grasp the safety handle on the upper handlebar and hold it against the handle.
- Press the green start button while continuing to hold the safety handle.
- Release start button once motor is running; continue holding safety handle to operate.
- To stop, release safety handle; motor will stop within 3 seconds.
- Remove safety key when not in use.
Battery Indicator: LEDs on battery show charge level (3 green = full, 1 red = low).
Cutting Height Adjustment
Single-lever adjustment for all four wheels.
- Locate the height adjustment lever on the right side of the deck.
- Pull lever outward to release, move to desired height setting (1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, or 4 inches).
- Release lever to lock into position.
- Check that all wheels are at the same height by lifting the mower and visually confirming.
Tip: For healthier grass, never cut more than 1/3 of grass blade length at one time. Adjust height seasonally (higher in summer heat).
3-in-1 Functionality
Configure for mulching, bagging, or side discharge.
- Mulching: Install mulch plug into rear discharge chute. Grass clippings are cut finely and returned to lawn as fertilizer.
- Bagging: Remove mulch plug, attach grass bag to rear hooks. Collects clippings for disposal.
- Side Discharge: Remove both mulch plug and grass bag. Clippings discharge from side chute (use in tall/wet grass).
WARNING! Always stop motor and remove safety key before changing function. Ensure chute or bag is securely attached.
Battery Care & Charging
Use only DeWalt 20V MAX lithium-ion batteries and charger.
- Charging: Insert battery into charger; LED will flash red while charging, solid green when complete.
- Storage: Store batteries in cool, dry place away from metal objects. Charge fully before long-term storage.
- Temperature: Charge between 40°F and 105°F (4°C to 40°C). Do not charge frozen batteries.
