Assembly Instructions

Unpack all parts and inspect for damage. Assembly requires a Phillips screwdriver and adjustable wrench.

  1. Attach the Lower Handle: Align lower handle with deck brackets. Secure with provided bolts and washers.
  2. Attach the Upper Handle: Connect upper handle to lower handle. Tighten knobs securely.
  3. Install the Grass Bag: Hook bag frame onto rear deck mounts. Ensure it clicks into place.
  4. Install Wheels: Slide axle through wheel hub and secure with provided washers and push pins.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, charge batteries fully and perform a safety check.

  1. Charge Batteries: Use DeWalt charger (sold separately) to charge batteries to full.
  2. Install Batteries: Insert two fully charged 20V MAX or 60V MAX batteries into the ports.
  3. Insert Safety Key: Push the safety key fully into the slot on the control panel.
  4. Adjust Cutting Height: Set the single lever to desired height (start at highest setting for first mow).
  5. Select Discharge Mode: Install grass bag, mulch plug, or attach side discharge chute as needed.

CAUTION! Clear mowing area of stones, sticks, and debris. Do not operate without safety key installed.

Battery Installation & Charging

Use only genuine DeWalt 20V MAX or 60V MAX FLEXVOLT batteries.

  1. Ensure mower is off and safety key is removed.
  2. Insert batteries into the two ports on the mower until they click.
  3. To remove, press battery release buttons and pull out.
  4. Charge batteries using a compatible DeWalt charger. LED indicators show charge status.
  5. Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from metal objects.

Tip: For best performance and runtime, use two batteries of the same type and charge level.

Mowing Operations

  1. Pre-Mow Check: Clear lawn of debris. Check battery level. Ensure discharge mode is correctly set.
  2. Starting: Insert safety key. Grip handle and press the safety lever. Press and hold the Start button. The blade will begin spinning.
  3. Mowing: Walk at a steady pace, overlapping passes slightly for even cut.
  4. Stopping: Release the safety lever on the handle. The blade will stop within 3 seconds.
  5. Emptying Bag: Stop mower. Lift bag door and empty clippings.
  6. After Use: Remove safety key. Clean underside of deck. Remove batteries for storage.

WARNING! Always wear safety glasses and sturdy footwear. Do not mow wet grass. Keep hands and feet away from cutting deck.

Safety Features

Safety Key: Mower will not start unless key is inserted. Remove key when not in use.

Safety Lever: Blade stops within 3 seconds of releasing the lever.

Blade Brake System: Automatically stops blade when handle is released.
