Mowing Operations

For optimal performance and battery life.

  2. Check grass condition: Mow when grass is dry for best results.
  3. Set appropriate height: Higher for first cut of season or uneven terrain.
  4. Start mower: Insert key, hold safety lever, pull start switch.
  5. Mowing pattern: Overlap each pass by 2-3 inches for even cut.
  6. Slope mowing: Mow across slopes, not up and down.
  7. Empty bag: When bag full indicator shows, stop and empty bag.

Tip: Mow frequently, removing no more than 1/3 of grass blade height per cut.

Mulching & Bagging

2-in-1 capability: mulch or bag clippings.

  1. Mulching Mode: Install mulch plug completely in rear discharge opening. Mulching returns nutrients to lawn; ideal for regular mowing when grass is not too long.
  2. Bagging Mode: Remove mulch plug, attach grass bag frame and bag. Use when grass is wet, very long, or when clippings collection is desired.
  3. Switching Modes: Always turn mower OFF and remove safety key before changing modes.
  4. Bag Full Indicator: Red flag raises when bag is approximately 80% full.

WARNING! Never operate without mulch plug OR grass bag properly installed. Keep hands away from discharge area.

Battery & Charging

24V MAX* system uses two 12V MAX* 5.0Ah batteries.

  1. Charging: Use provided dual-port charger. Insert batteries into charger ports.
  2. Charging Time: Approximately 90 minutes for fully depleted batteries.
  3. Battery Care: Store batteries at room temperature. Charge before storage if not used for 30+ days.
  4. Battery Indicator: Press button on handle to check charge level.
  5. Run Time: Up to 60 minutes on fully charged batteries (varies with grass conditions).

CAUTION! Use only DeWalt 12V MAX* batteries and charger. Do not expose batteries to water or fire.

Maintenance & Storage

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. After each use: Clean underside of deck (mower OFF, key removed).
  2. Blade care: Check blade monthly for damage or dullness. Replace if bent or damaged.
  3. Wheel maintenance: Check wheels for free movement; clean axle areas if debris accumulates.
  4. Battery storage: Remove batteries, store in cool, dry place away from metal objects.
  5. Off-season storage: Clean thoroughly, charge batteries fully, store in dry location.

CAUTION! Always remove safety key before performing any maintenance. Disconnect batteries when cleaning underside.

Safety Information

Read all instructions before operation. Keep bystanders and pets away.

DANGER! Blade continues to rotate after switch is released. Wait for complete stop before any adjustment or cleaning.
