Controls and Settings

Primary controls located on the upper handle for easy operation.

Handle Controls: Safety Bail Handle (must be held to run), Start Button, Drive Control Lever (variable speed), Height Adjustment Lever.

Deck Features: Discharge Chute (for side discharge), Mulching Plug, Bag Attachment Point.

Battery Compartment: Located at rear of mower. Battery Fuel Gauge shows charge level.

Settings: Cutting Height (Lever positions 1-6, 1=lowest, 6=highest). Drive Speed (controlled by pressure on lever).

Cutting & Drive Modes

Three cutting modes: Mulching, Bagging, Side Discharge.

  1. Mulching: Install mulching plug. Cuts clippings finely and returns them to lawn as fertilizer.
  2. Bagging: Attach grass bag. Collects clippings for disposal.
  3. Side Discharge: Remove both plug and bag. Discharges clippings to the side (use with catcher if needed).
  4. Self-Propel Drive: Squeeze lever to engage. Speed varies with pressure. Release to stop drive (blade continues).

Tip: For best mulching, mow frequently and avoid cutting more than 1/3 of grass height at once.

Battery & Charging

Uses DeWalt 65V MAX* / 20V MAX* FLEXVOLT ADVANTAGE batteries.

  1. Charging: Use DeWalt DCB115 charger (or compatible). Plug charger into outlet, insert battery. LED indicates status (red=charging, green=fully charged).
  2. Battery Care: Store in cool, dry place. Do not expose to extreme heat or cold. Charge battery before storage if not used for 30+ days.
  3. Fuel Gauge: Press button on battery to display remaining charge (LEDs: 4=full, 1=low).
  4. Run Time: Varies with grass height, density, and drive speed. For maximum run time, use lower drive speed and appropriate cutting height.

WARNING! Use only DeWalt chargers and batteries. Do not charge damaged batteries.

Maintenance & Storage

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. After Each Use: Clean underside of deck (remove grass clippings). Check blade for damage.
  2. Blade Sharpening/Replacement: Disconnect battery. Tip mower on its side (air filter side up). Use wrench to remove blade bolt. Sharpen or replace as needed. Ensure blade is balanced.
  3. Wheel & Drive Inspection: Check wheels for free movement. Lubricate wheel axles if necessary.
  4. End-of-Season Storage: Fully charge battery. Clean mower thoroughly. Store in a dry, protected area. Consider removing battery for separate storage.
