Battery & Charging

The 20V MAX 7.5 Ah battery provides cordless operation.

  1. Charging: Use only DeWalt 20V MAX charger. Insert battery into charger; plug into 120V outlet.
  2. Storage: Store battery in a cool, dry place away from metal objects. Charge fully before long-term storage.
  3. Runtime: Approx. 60 minutes on a full charge under normal conditions (varies with grass height/density).
  4. Battery Care: Do not expose to water or fire. Do not disassemble.

Tip: For best performance, store and charge batteries at room temperature. Allow battery to cool before charging if hot from use.

Cutting & Mowing

For optimal results, follow proper mowing techniques.

  1. Mowing Pattern: Mow in straight, overlapping passes. Change direction periodically to avoid soil compaction.
  2. Cutting Height: Never cut more than 1/3 of grass blade length at one time. Adjust height seasonally.
  3. Wet Grass: Avoid mowing wet grass if possible; it can clog deck and reduce battery runtime.
  4. Slopes: Mow across slopes, not up and down, for stability. Use caution on inclines over 15 degrees.
  5. Bagging vs. Mulching: Use bagging for a clean finish; mulching returns nutrients to the lawn.
  6. Clearing Clogs: Always turn mower off and remove battery before clearing deck or chute.

WARNING! Keep hands and feet away from cutting deck at all times during operation. Never lift or carry mower while blade is spinning.

Safety Features

Safety Key: Must be inserted to enable start function. Removing it stops the motor immediately. Safety Lever: Blade only operates when lever is held down. Release to stop blade within 3 seconds. Blade Brake System: Stops blade rotation quickly when safety lever is released.

Care & Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures long life and optimal performance.

  1. After Each Use: Clean underside of deck with brush or hose (after removing battery). Wipe down handle and deck.
  2. Blade Care: Periodically inspect blade for damage or dullness. Sharpen or replace as needed (remove battery first).
  3. Wheel & Height Mechanism: Lubricate height adjustment pivot points with light oil if stiff.
  4. Storage: Store in a dry place. Fold handle for compact storage. Remove battery if storing for extended periods.

CAUTION! Always disconnect battery before performing any maintenance. Never use water or cleaners on electrical components.
